Executives in Africa – going the extra mile!

Executives in Africa (EiA) have always maintained that they have an unrivalled ability to identify the best business leaders for clients today, who are committed to developing the leaders of tomorrow.

EiA still have the largest executive search team wholly focused on fulfilling requirements in Africa, and 2015 has proved that their commitment to investment in their own people and continuing to strive for excellence has delivered results. After a difficult start to the year, potentially impacted by depressed oil prices, significant governmental changes, concern over the impact of Ebola and devaluation of currencies in some key markets, the business has taken on a record number of Searches in the last quarter of the year, covering Liberia, Sierra Leone, Angola and Mozambique.

“Whenever possible we have team members on the ground meeting business leaders, new and established clients and we are certain this is one of the things that sets us apart from other firms. It helps us clarify and sometimes even challenge assumptions around requirements as a result of really understanding regional operational challenges and it also gives us additional knowledge to build firm relationships which often become strident, long term partnerships.” Explains EiA Managing Director Sarah Fitzgerald.

“During 2015, our Consultants have visited clients in Tanzania Nigeria, Angola, Morocco, France and Germany. Most recently one of our Researchers, Helen, has just completed a sabbatical at the Forever Angels orphanage in Mwanza, Tanzania and we are delighted to have ‘matched’ the sum Helen raised herself to help supply the orphans with food, medicine and fundamentally, some real childhood. We have continued our work with the Professionals for Africa (PFA) Network in the UK as well as supporting the African Leadership Institute through provision of pro bono Search support as well as nominations for their Tutu Fellowship programme.” Continues Fitzgerald.

“We are proud to have sustained our impressive success rate for retained Executive Searches and we believe this can be attributed to several things. Fundamentally we have a team who not only know the African market but who are also passionate about what we do and about delivering exceptional results to our clients, upholding what our brand stands for. Combine that with the rare ability to deliver a full traditional search within only four working weeks and the fact that we will guarantee the quality of the results, it is no wonder that clients are returning to EiA for multiple senior level mandates.” Adds EiA Managing Director Richard Putley.

“Our goal remains to continue to be able to identify and attract the highest calibre of talent for our clients as we continue into our 6th year and to maintain or improve on our track record of 60% of successful hires being African nationals. Equally, the EiA brand attracts the best talent in the search market, and, having recently recruited in house at the highest level, we are excited about 2016 and continuing to deliver exceptional results to our clients.” Concludes Putley.
